“Start, Scale and Disrupt”: The iPRIMED Way

Mr. Navin Kumar, Founder and CEO of iPRIMED, has been leading the efforts at IIM Bangalore to create the most ambitious alumni led event. This two-day event will bring together thought leaders including Piyush Goyal, Amitabh Kant, Javagal Srinath, Mohandas Pai, Deepika Padukone & IIMB’s alumni for a weekend of stimulating discussions on the theme ‘Start, Scale & Disrupt’. Industry titans, entrepreneurs, sportspersons, policy makers and actors, along with the alumni of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, are all set to make IIMBue 2016, the Annual Leadership Summit organized by the Alumni Association of IIM Bangalore, an event to remember.

Mr. Navin Kumar, PGP 99, has been instrumental in bringing the current edition of the event to fruition. A believer in the theme of this edition, ‘Start, Scale & Disrupt’, he had started iPRIMED way back in 2009 in order to disrupt the education sector and address the gap between the skills required in the industry and the skills possessed by the graduates. His philosophy and understanding of the education sector have percolated throughout the organization, and is ingrained in all the activities that the organization undertakes.

iPRIMED partners in multiple GOI initiatives to ensure up-skilling of the youth and empowering them. In addition to being a member of NASSCOM and assisting corporates conduct campus connect programs as part of their CSR, iPRIMED also works with NRLP to impart much needed skills in the rural hinterlands of the country.

Whilst a deviation from the current education methodology, wherein focus is on rote learning and not on the all-round development of the individual, it is heartening to see that the learning model at iPRIMED, which focuses on the all-round development of an individual, has now earned recognition from top corporates in the IT/ITeS sector.

In order to sustain the growth of India, it is imperative that we invest in disruption, create new entrepreneurs and enable existing SMEs scale up to global standards. On December 17 and 18, 2016, the Taj Bangalore, near the Kempe Gowda International Airport, will see IIMB alumni, students and achievers celebrate their association with the country’s premier management school and share thoughts on the need of the hour, ‘Start, Scale & Disrupt’.

Tell me how to do it sir and I’ll get it done. Most of the time employees wouldn’t ask why I am doing what I am doing.” Click here to read the full article.

A simple definition of generation is a group of individuals born and living at the same time, most of whom are the same approximate age having similar ideas, attitudes and problems. A little more complex is the sociologist’s view, ‘generation’ viewed as a group of individuals of similar ages whose members have experienced a noteworthy historical event within a set period of time and hence the socio, political cultural environment during the formative and growing years influences and shapes their attitudes and beliefs forming a collective world view.

Hypotheses of the Industry wide studyBased on our continued research over the last two years around generations and the organization, we have developed the hypotheses that both the home environment and the organization needs to be explored to conclude on the competencies required to manage the millennial at the workplace. The study was conducted across 10 organizations between October to December 2012 as a representation of the IT and BPM industry.
